Defrag V6 Server Edition [ENG]

A special O&O Defrag agent is included as client software with the O&O Defrag V6 Server Edition - this agent only needs to be installed once. After this, the entire communication is controlled with the console. Whenever the console recognizes a new computer on which the agent has not yet been installed, the administrator is prompted to install it. No further software is required, nor are any further configurations. Everything will be done for you, and all fully integrated in Windows' security concept.

One of the most important new features in the new version of O&O Defrag is the type of communication between the various program elements. The error-prone, proprietary and insecure DCOM communication protocol has been completely replaced with the standard protocol TCP/IP. This additionally prevents security problems as the W32.blaster virus - O&O Defrag V6 therefore integrates itself into the security concept of every company.

If you wish to allow your users to gain access to the defragmentation process, O&O Defrag offers you two alternatives. Administrators can decide to display an icon on the client's desktop task tray that lets the users know about the current defragmentation job and allows them to pause or even stop it. Of course, users can also be allowed to make use of the complete graphical user interface of O&O Defrag - this is useful, for example, for notebook users. O&O Defrag V6 Professional Edition can be used without changes to the overall setup within the network. Your users may configure all parameters and the defragmentation process itself, if you wish. Of course, they do not have access to other computers or the global settings.
