RENEX II's Information
1. Overview
Renex is a top quality puzzle game from the class of "5-in-a-line" games.
Excellent 3D-rendered graphics and a great number of user's settings.
The game is supplied with three built-in themes (skins) and two plug-in themes. Moreover, on our site you can always download additional plug-in themes. You will also have an opportunity to create and add your own plug-in themes. The game is provided as shareware (see Registration &Shareware Limitations).
2. Installation
2.1 System requirements
- Pentium 100 or better.
- Graphics requirements: 640x480 resolution with true color (24 bit)
- Windows 95/98/NT.
2.2 Game installation
Launch the rnx.exe file and follow the instructions. The program installs the game files into a specified catalog and creates the directory THEME with a subdirectory for plug-in themes.
3. Game overview
3.1. Game rules
You play on a field of 10x10 cells by dropping items in the form of beautiful coral fish. From the three cells in the upper left corner you drag the items and drop them on the game field.
After a combination of 5 identical items is built on the same line, the items do vanish to vacate the line for new items. Each time at your move you are to choose among three items. If dropping an item causes no line disappearance the remaining two items are distributed on the field at random. The game ends when the field has no vacant cells.
The items dropped from time to time become "animated" and float away from their cells. A floating item would randomly move over the game field until it stops and remains in a cell. Thus, the items on the field are being slowly mixed so the player is given a chance to find a way out of a deadlock situation (vice versa, a suddenly floated out item may spoil a semi-finished combination)
3.2. Game control
Any action in the game is performed by a click on the mouse left button.
The mouse right button is used to switch on/off the auxiliary grid.
F5 - off/on the sound
F10 - immediate escape from the game
3.3. Game themes
Coral fish - a colorful theme. One can watch the bright multicolored fish move in the ocean for hours.
Fruit theme - a real fruit-piece with apples, cherries, grapes, blossoming-out and fading flowers soaring and going round in a dance.
Regular balls - this ascetic theme is provided to focus on the game strategy.
plugin-themes - You can download additional themes in the form of Plugins.
The supply set comprises two Plugin-themes, Atom and
Ancient symbol (for new themes see www.almate.com/renex).
3.4. Score Table
There is a table of records in Renex? The highest 10 scores are kept in the table.
